While in the middle of getting ready for Haley & Chris’s wedding (which is 50 days away by the way ahhh!) and getting ready for a shower this weekend, I realized I hadn’t posted photos from my own sister’s engagement session! And these just happen to be some of my favorites.
I don’t think I am being dramatic in saying that I am just glad we made it through this shoot at Hanging Rock. We arrived to the park a little later than planned and realized we might not have enough time considering we wanted to go allll the way to the top during golden hour and then make it back down to the waterfalls before it got dark. We had about 2 hours to conquer this, which now that I think about it, really doesn’t make sense and seems almost impossible, so we practically ran to the top. If you’ve ever been to Hanging Rock you can imagine how hard this was in normal clothing, carrying blankets and camera equipment all while trying to prevent sweat and still maintaining a good appearance for pictures at the top. Let’s just say I am glad I did this with people I knew considering I was grasping for air by the end of it. We made it to the top for some photos and then rushed back for the waterfall, slipping on rocks and flailing all the way down. We got to the bottom only to realize we had to drive to the waterfall, had a short hike to get there and then found that it wasn’t really the waterfall we were thinking of, but we decided to shoot anyway because the sky was getting darker and darker. Haley & Chris plunged into the freezing water, we took some cool photos and made it out of the park right before it closed.
Regardless of the craziness, it was a fun adventure and I’m glad this job gives me the opportunity to experience these kinds of things with everyone but especially my sister and to be along for the ride in this special time in her and Chris’s life. If you’ve stuck with that whole story, here are the images that go along with it. :)
